Updated: Nov 14, 2025

As part of our ongoing review of Dispatch we played through all of Episode 5+6 and found them just as entertaining as the first half.

Proof that Episodic Games Do Work

The story continues to be exactly what you need to stay entertained and engaged, with the episodic nature being exactly what is needed. If the game was done as a full release at the start there would not be as much anticipation going into the coming weeks.

All week it has been a hotly anticipated march up until the release dates, proof that episodic games do work. It felt like Game of Thrones where it was a must-see appointment viewing event.

My sole hesitation is that the game only goes to 8 episodes, and hope that the pacing doesn't find itself lacking therein. It would be difficult to do multiple seasons given the choice based elements in the game but it seems to good of a concept and execution to be done at 8 episodes, with plenty of story runway to go and avenues to explore.

Cliffhangers

On that note for pacing, I was a little disappointed on the follow through of story arcs from 3+4, specifically on the romance side. We just don't have enough runway for me to feel that those are going to be resolved or setup in a way that make me feel fulfilled, i.e. hopefully this has enough success for a season 2.

Without spoiling episode 6 ends with one of the better cliffhangers, especially when the run has been so short to make me care this much so far.

Final Thoughts

This is a must play game at this point, as long as you like one of super heroes, video games or TV, meaning.... everyone should be playing this one. We at the Gamer-Parent give it an amazing 9/10.
